Passing on the 'Hup Taem' Heritage
Towards Creative Community Products
From the preservation of the valuable mural paintings (Hup Taem) of the ubosot at Wat Sutthiwararam, Nong Chim Subdistrict, Noen Sa-nga District, Chaiyaphum Province, community leaders have drawn upon the historical and spiritual value to drive forward through the
Palang Boran Project (Home, Temple, School/Government) in the religious dimension, giving rise to creative activities that connect people of all ages together, from children and youth to the elderly
This activity has provided an opportunity for villagers and descendants in the community to learn together, pass on, and adapt the distinctive patterns of Hup Taem onto various products such as Hup Taem pattern T-shirts, drinking glasses, keychains, etc., which not only brings pride in their own cultural roots but also helps build skills, supplement family income, and transforms past intellectual heritage into sustainable cultural capital for Nong Chim Subdistrict community to carry on
